Dear Parents,
In case you missed it the first time here is a reminder:
It’s that time of year to finalize registration for your kindergartener! You should have received an email from Weber School District with a link to Enrollment Express which gathers pre-registration information. If not here is the link, Kindergarten Pre-Registration Form. Please fill it out if you haven’t done so.
We are thrilled to welcome your little one into our school community and embark on this wonderful journey of learning and growing together.
We will be holding Kindergarten registration on:
March 19, 2025
1:30pm - 3:30pm
Please call the main office @801-452-4140 to make your appointment
If you have neighbors or friends with an upcoming Kindergarten student, please help spread the word.
Required Documents:
To enroll your child in kindergarten, we request the following documents:
Birth Certificate: Your child's original birth certificate is required for age verification. (we will make a copy for our records)
Immunization Records: Up-to-date immunization records are mandatory for enrollment.
Proof of Residence: Please provide 2 current proofs of residence; i.e., utility bills (gas and/or electric), drivers license (if the address is listed on the license), lease agreement or contract as proof of residence.
Guardianship Documents: If applicable, legal guardianship documents should be submitted.
As a reminder, in order to meet the age requirements for kindergarten in Utah, your child must be five (5) years of age on or before September 1st. Additionally, with the passing of HB 331, beginning on May 1, 2024, students are required to be toilet trained before being enrolled in kindergarten.
We are excited to offer a full-day kindergarten option to all our students as well as a half-day option to accommodate the needs of our families. Here’s a brief overview of each program:
Full-day kindergarten: Students attending full-day kindergarten will follow a schedule equivalent to the other grades in the school. They will receive comprehensive instruction on the state-approved standards in all content areas, including the arts, PE, and library.
Half-day kindergarten: Students attending either a half-day kindergarten class (which requires at least 19 students) or a half-day kindergarten option within a full day kindergarten class will attend school for part of the day as determined by individual schools and will receive instruction that prioritizes the state-approved standards for the content areas of English language arts and mathematics as required by R277-730. Please note that midday transportation will not be provided for those attending half day kindergarten options.
Although you may register a student for kindergarten at any time, for planning purposes, we have established April 18, 2025 as a cutoff date for priority registration to determine what type of options will be available. Please be prepared to fill out a questionnaire at registration to indicate your kindergarten program of choice. Once that deadline passes, you will be notified of the options that your neighborhood school will be offering. You will then be provided more details on schedules and other pertinent information.
We want to assure you that all kindergarten students will be invited to participate in class parties, after school events/activities, and field trips, ensuring a rich and engaging experience for your child.
We understand that this is an important decision for your family, and we are here to support you every step of the way. If you have any questions or need assistance with the registration process, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Thank you,
Chance Adams
